I’m excited. And nervous, and happy, and hopeful, and content.
These trips I’ve taken over the past few years are part of me like almost nothing else is. They are one of the few things I’ve done completely and solely for myself, ever, and they make me happy. The desert has this ability to reach down to the very bottom of my soul and open it up like nothing else, bringing forth both the very hardest and the very most beautiful things in this entire world.
There is something about that stark beauty that makes me happy like very little else. Perhaps you’ll understand — it is like nothing else in this life, in this universe, in this world. It is.
(Oh, and P.S.: although I’ll be in and out of range of civilization, I will be on and off email during this whole trip…so feel free to drop me a line if you’re so inspired or just want to say “hi”. Work email, however, is getting completely and utterly ignored. ;-) )
